Welcome to Moon Tour

Hiatus is finally over! But expect slow progress.  We’re now up to the 75th song and I’m pondering on whether to do a few things. First is end the entire collection at 120. Second is make all my videos viewable to subscribers only. They’re definitely odd things I know, but just some things on my mind when it comes to the collection.

This piece comes from Magical Astronomy an original CD by ZUN. There’s another arrange of another song from the same album already in the collection and I love both very much. They give off a certain mysterious feeling, but this one is a little special. It has some traits that you can find in some of the songs from the Touhou games. Can you pick them out?

Made it just in time at the very end of the month for this update, but I managed to hold my promise. Slow updates from here on out until I figure some things out.

Hiatus Update

The end of this hiatus is very near. After I go on vacation in a little over a week and return I’ll start up again. So we’re looking at the end of this month for the next song. I already have the next one picked out so I can’t back out and extend the hiatus any longer. Also I only have about 4, (I think) song requests at this point so feel free to message me or leave a comment here if you’ve got a song you want to hear!

Until then everyone enjoy your summer~

The Doll Maker of the Forsaken Doll

No sadly I am not back from my hiatus just yet. I felt like dropping off a song for you guys since it’s been so long, but in the end made an error and put up two. Thanks again to Naturalistick2 for pointing it out to me, and so quickly at that!

So about this first song. It’s a lovely piece with a darkness in the background. But that’s just Poison Body ~ Forsaken Doll for you. Medicine Melancholy’s theme is one of the few in the Touhou series that comes off as evil, most of those that do are Yuka’s, even though Medicine herself isn’t really all too evil. She does attack people in PoFV for just being in her flower field though… Back to talking about this piece, it definitely brings out the eeriness of the original.

For the second song I did some rushing. I quickly picked a song I knew was gorgeous and threw a beautiful picture with it. Thankfully they work together for the most part so it wasn’t a complete bust. I put this one into the collection at this time since I had originally meant to put a The Doll Maker of Bucuresti into the collection today. Unfortunately though I couldn’t find one with the right amount of sad, dark or heavy feelings in it so I’ll keep waiting for one that does. And if I’m lucky then I’ll get one with all three. For some reason those three things are what best fit Alice’s themes in my opinion.

I hope you enjoyed these two pieces. Until the next time…

Another Hiatus

I’ve been pretty busy with things in real life recently so I haven’t been able to tell you guys about it, but I’m going on yet another hiatus. I don’t know when it’ll end, but you can be sure there won’t be any updates until I get back. Sorry for the inconvenience, but that’s life for ya. Like before the collection is simply on hold for a while, I’m not ending it. Hope you guys are still around for when I come back to enjoy more music.

Last Remote

First let me get this out of the way. Here’s the downloads for Part VII: music and images. If you don’t feel like getting them now you can pick them up later through the collection page.

Next in the collection is an arrange for Last Remote. While I myself have not gotten to the extra stage, or past catOrin in stage 5 for that matter) I can’t say all too much about Koishi. I do know that she’s a bit odd though so I can safely say that this song fits her. It’s pretty upbeat, but has a dark side to it. Perhaps that’s because she’s a satori?

Until the next song…

Crimson in the Black Sea, Catastrophe in Bhava-agra As Seen Through a Child’s Mind

My failed attempt at a title for this post came out rather long, but moving on to the music. As I said in the last post the downloads for this part will be delayed, but I should have them ready by the next post. After playing some Scarlet Weather Rhapsody I had noticed that there were no songs from it in the collection (and I mean songs only in SWR when I say that). I do admit that way back when I first played SWR I did not like Iku or Tenshi’s themes. I hated them. But now I love them very much and proudly give you a three lovely arranges for those songs.

First up is a gorgeous arrange of Nagae Iku’s theme Crimson in the Black Sea ~ Legendary Fish. Iku scares me with her lightning, but I do love her and this song. Since she frightens me I wanted nothing less than something on a more godly level of an arrange for her, but this is the best I could do (I’m not saying it’s not good though).

The second is yet another orchestrated piece, but for Hinanai Tenshi’s theme Catastrophe in Bhava-agra ~ Wonderful Heaven. I was pretty let down when I found that most arranges and covers for this song were techno, and not all too great at that. Out of all the ones I heard this one grabbed my attention the most. It’s rather fitting for a celestial like herself, but I wish it had a lot more impact….

This final piece of the trio is fabulous. I had gone back and fourth through a few songs trying to decide which to put into the collection and without a doubt this one was above the rest. It brought a completely different feeling than all the others, which was exactly what I wanted. Overall it’s an amazing piece and I hope you love it as much as I do.

Look forward to more amazing pieces…

U.N. Owen was JIMANG’s Girlfriend?

I came across this song is a very random matter, but all in all it makes for a good song. This song is by JIMANG from Sound Horizon (some may know him from Umineko Anime ED). I honestly haven’t heard any of his songs other than this one so I don’t know how it fairs as far as that goes. I can say that it’s a good vocal arrange for U.N. Owen was her? though and I do understand if you don’t like it.

The downloads for this part of the collection are going to delayed some so I apologize in advance.

Lunatic Night Again

I’d been searching for a good Extended Ash ~ Hourai Victim arrange for quite some time now and I finally came across a good one by chance. I can’t say exactly what it is that draws me to this song, but whatever it is is strong. Extended Ash is a great stage theme and I do admit that I’m really starting to see the better of stage themes now. I had been focusing on character songs for so long it was about time I suppose….

Here’s towards a bigger variety of songs in the future!

10 Requested Songs

I keep forgetting to mention this, but I’m going to take requests for up to 10 songs that people want to show up in the collection. It’s first come first serve, BUT it’s one song requested per person so if you give me a list of songs I’ll simply take the first one. And just to make things clear you’re requesting a character song/stage theme/etc (For example: U.N.Owen was her? or The Doll Maker of Bucuresti) for me to find an arrange or cover of not a specific song (for example: Song X on Album X done by Circle X). I’ll make sure to talk about it in the next few video info’s so that people who don’t come here have a chance at it too. If no one requests then well… that’s just your guys’ loss.

They won’t show up until after the collection hits it’s 100th mark though.

The Venerable Ancient Battlefield

After nearly a month of no activity is the next song, but before I get to that I would like to announce that my channel now has over 100 subscribers! Thank you very much to every, those who have been with the collection the longest to those who have joined more recently. If it wasn’t for you guys I wouldn’t have any reason to keep the collection going so thank you again!

This next piece is an amazing vocal arrange from SYNC.ART’s. If you even just a little about Touhou arranges and covers then you should have heard about SYNC.ART’s by now as they do a lot of great songs (This one included of course). I’ve known about this song for a very long time now, but have been ‘saving it for a rainy day’. The vocalist in this piece did a great job and I won’t forget to mention the guitar in this either. The short guitar solo at the end is very nice and honestly I wish someone would do Suwa Foughten Field with that sort of feeling. ZUN said that this song is supposed to make you feel “awe towards a god, and a part which makes you feel the gravity of history.”. Without a doubt this vocal arrange did just that.

Until the next song…
